Anne Curtis expressed concern over the new surge of COVID-19 cases and questioned the government’s plans to address it.

“This is quite alarming. Specially knowing that not everyone can/has gotten tested,” Curtis said through a Twitter post yesterday about the 15,310 new COVID-19 cases recorded on April 2. She also asked about the government’s next steps to address the surge.

“So what is the plan?” she asked. “I would like to think that everyone understands we have to take the necessary precautions to stay safe but it would be nice to be given more light on what is to happen while waiting for vaccines to arrive.”

Some, apparently trollish accounts, were not pleased that she expressed her concerns online and responded harshly to the actress. Meanwhile, a few netizens told her to “help the government instead.”

Curtis, as early as the first few months after the lockdown last year, has been actively assisting fellow celebrities such as Angel Locsin in raising funds for COVID-19-related efforts. The two revived their “Shop and Share” project, first launched for Typhoon Ondoy relief back in 2009, to raise funds this time for testing kits.
