Janus Del Prado marks 4 years since he quit smoking: ‘Kung kaya ko, kaya niyo rin’
Janus Del Prado opened up on his struggles with quitting smoking as he marks the fourth year since he last puffed a lit cigarette.
The actor stressed that “it’s not easy” and shared that his bouts against nicotine withdrawal left him both physically and mentally drained, as seen in his Instagram post yesterday, Feb. 24.
“Madaming mangyayari [sa ‘yo] physically and psychologically. Tataba ka sobra, magsisink ka into depression, etc. But still, I’m glad [I] did it. Kahit puff or yung rason na ‘pag inuman lang’ di ko ginawa,” Del Prado shared.
(Many things will happen to you, both physically and psychologically. You will get really fat, you will sink into depression, etc. But still, I’m glad I did it. I have not even had a puff nor do I use the “only when we are drinking” reason.)
“Syempre [‘yung] mga kaibigan mo na smokers na di naniniwala [sa ‘yo] na kaya mo they will do everything to tempt you pero nasasayo na [‘yon] kung marupok ka,” he added.

While the actor emphasized the difficulties of having to quit the said vice, he encouraged others that they can do it too if he could.
“Anyway, buti na lang natigil ko. So proud of myself. Hehe. [Four] years man. Kung kaya ko. Kaya niyo rin. But yun nga lang, dun tayo sa totoo. Hindi sya madali. Labyu guys,” Del Prado said, aptly ending his post with the hashtag “#smokefreesince2017.”
(Anyway, I am happy I stopped. So proud of myself. hehe. Four years man. If I can do it, so can you. But, as I said, let us all be real. It is not easy. Love you, guys.)
Del Prado recently announced that he will go freelance once his contract with Star Magic ends this March after his 21 years under the agency. JB
