WATCH: Ivana Alawi gives away helmets, P10,000 cash to delivery riders
In another one of her wholesome “pranks,” actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi surprised delivery riders with helmets and cash.
Alawi said she decided to share her blessings to delivery riders after hearing stories of them getting scammed, noting that she often relies on their services especially amid the pandemic.
“Palagi kasi akong umo-order ng pagkain sa mga delivery, tapos di ba kahit nung pandemic, sila talaga ‘yung bumabyahe, so I think it’s time to give back,” she said in a YouTube vlog yesterday, Jan. 25. (I always order food via delivery, and amid the pandemic, they really are the ones who go out, so, I think it’s time to give back.)
“‘Yung reason talaga kung bakit ko ‘to ginagawa is because marami akong nakikita na scammer na mga tao na akala nila nakakatawa na pagtripan nila ang mga driver na nagpapakahirap magtrabaho,” the 24-year-old model stressed.
(The real reason why I am doing this is that I see many scammers who think it is funny to fool [delivery riders] who are working hard.)

In the vlog, Alawi’s “own small way” was to give eight delivery riders a full-face helmet and P10,000 cash each as she expressed her gratitude for their service.
To pull off the “prank,” Alawi ordered from several food delivery services using a different name to surprise the riders. She also set up a mini-game for them, although Alawi noted that it does not matter if they win or lose as they will still receive the helmets and cash.
“I will always keep giving back to you because kayo ang nagbigay kung ano man ang meron ako ngayon dito sa YouTube. And this is my small way of saying thank you,” Alawi said.
(I will of always keep giving back to you because you are the ones who gave me whatever I have here now on YouTube. And this is my small way of saying thank you.)
“And grabe my heart is so full talaga kapag nakakapagpasaya ako ng tao. And this is what makes me happy,” she added. (And my heart really is so full whenever I make someone happy. And this is what makes me happy.)
In a previous vlog earlier this month, Alawi also “pranked” her mother when she gave her a brand new Ford Expedition car. JB
