Nadine Lustre, Vice Ganda, celebs call on public to join relief efforts for typhoon victims

Nadine Lustre, Vice Ganda and Neri Naig have joined other celebrities in providing aid to the victims of Typhoon Ulysses and are appealing to the public for help.

Lustre, for one, has been working with non-profit organization For The Future PH to collect funds and in-kind donations to help the most affected areas in the country.

“[Hello] there! [Working] with @forthefutureph to send help to Cagayan, Catanduanes, Marikina, Bicol, Rizal, and Batangas,” she stated on her Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 14.

Those willing to help can drop off their donations at The Pop Up along Katipunan Ave. in Quezon City, according to the singer-actress. They will be collecting donations starting today, Nov. 15, to Nov. 21.

“[No] need to pack cuz we can repack everything anyways. [We] accept cash donations too!” she noted.

Lustre and her team are looking for donations in the form of food, drinks, hygiene kits, medical items and goods for children such as powdered milk, diapers and clothes, among others.

Vice Ganda has meanwhile set up the “FUNDkabogable” donation drive yesterday to help victims of the calamity.

“Samahan nyo kong makalikom ng pantawid krisis para sa ating mga kababayan. Anumang halaga ay buong puso kong pasasalamatan. Ngayon pa lang MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT!!” he said on Instagram.

Entrepreneur and actress Neri Naig is likewise appealing for cash aid through several donation drives for the victims of the typhoon.

“[Mister Rice] is donating 1500 packs of [1 kilogram] of rice,” she said on Instagram yesterday. “Sa lahat po ng gusto pang tumulong, maaari pong magsend dito para po mas maraming kababayan natin ang makatanggap ng tulong po. Maraming salamat po.”

Several other celebrities, such as Angel Locsin and members of the group Aktor (League of Filipino Actors), have earlier been appealing for help and conducting relief operations for the typhoon’s victims.

Typhoon Ulysses, which has been compared to 2009’s Typhoon Ondoy due to the damage it has caused, ravaged parts of Luzon from the evening of Nov. 11 until the morning of Nov. 12. JB
