Arci Muñoz showed her fondness for the hit 2016 Japanese animated film “Kimi no Na wa” (Your Name) by creating an artwork of its main characters.
The actress posted a photo of her working on the piece on her Instagram page, yesterday, Aug. 18. She also shared a video of the painting while “Sparkle” by Radwimps, a song from the film’s soundtrack, played in the background.
She painted the heads of protagonists Taki Tachibana and Mitsuha Miyamizu on a blue and orange sky, similar to an iconic scene in the movie.
“To my Taki kun, I know yer (sic) out there somewhere! We’ll meet each other in God’s perfect time,” Muñoz said in jest.
“Kimi no Na wa” follows two high school students who inexplicably swap bodies with each other. The movie, directed by Makoto Shinkai, has earned various awards for its story, popularity and soundtrack.
It also holds the title of the highest-grossing anime of all time, surpassing Studio Ghibli’s critically acclaimed hit “Spirited Away.”
Prior to creating portraits of the “Kimi no Na wa” characters, Muñoz also drew the four protagonists of the 1990s anime “Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files,” popularly known as “Ghost Fighter” in the Philippines, last month. /ra
