KC Concepcion on accepting her body type: ‘Curves are timeless’

KC Concepcion fully embraces her curvaceous body type and proudly announced that she is “a FILIPINA with LATINA CURVES.”
The actress explained how she overcame body-shaming and recalibrated her perception of herself on her Instagram post today, Aug. 5.
“I used to get body-shamed when I went on my 3-year hiatus for not having that Asian, [stick-thin] body (for an Asian like me), and many women like me get affected by this mentally, emotionally and physically,” she said.
The COVID-19 crisis made Concepcion realize that life should be enjoyed and celebrated. The actress showed some photos where she looked stunning while sporting a long light-hued pencil skirt which accentuated her curvy hips, and a matching bralette top.
“[Why] would I choose to develop an eating disorder over losing all the extra weight healthily?” Concepcion asked.
Now, the actress declared that she is “[making] my Portuguese curves shine [every day.]” For her, a woman’s curves are cool and timeless.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way!” the actress said. “I’m here to celebrate all Filipinas who are like me.”

Concepcion has been an advocate of body positivity. Last March, she shared that she is going through her fitness journey “one step at a time” to achieve her body goals.
