As Kim Chiu reflects on the past week, the actress could not help but be grateful for “the miracle” of her having survived a shooting, and for all the people who have supported her throughout the process.

Chiu’s van was driving along Katipunan Ave. corner C.P. Garcia Ave. in Quezon City when motorcycle-riding gunmen opened fire at the vehicle with the actress on March 4. Chiu claimed that she has no known enemies, viewing the incident as a case of “mistaken identity.

The “Love Thy Woman” actress was on her way to a taping when the incident occurred. Luckily, she and her two other companions were unharmed.

A grateful Chiu told her fans about what the incident has taught her on her Instagram account today, March 11.

“[T]hat day made me realize life is really short, life is very precious and most of all [I] felt God’s presence [because] he protected me, my PA (personal assistant) and my driver,” she said.

The actress also expressed her gratitude for her home TV network ABS-CBN, the media conglomerate’s executives, as well as her Star Magic family for their support.

So many people helped me get through this I am blessed to be surrounded with [this kind] of people,” Chiu added. “[They don’t] have to do this ang dami na nilang pinoroblema (they already have a lot of problems) but still they insisted to help me.”

The actress also stressed that she is just “glad [to be] alive.” The shooting incident made Chiu discover “who are willing to help” as well as the “people who just [want] to bring you down.”

Ultimately, despite the hardship she has been through, Chiu declared: “Puno ng pasasalmat ang puso ko (my heart is filled with gratitude), [I’m] just happy that I am here posting another IG post and thanking HIM for this Precious life!”

The “Pinoy Big Brother” winner also said that she has no fear of what is to come: “Kung wala ka namang ginagawang masama (If you did nothing wrong), there is no need to be scared.”

Meanwhile, police announced yesterday that they are tracking two persons of interest who might be involved in the shooting of Chiu’s van.

Quezon City Police District Station 10 was able to obtain CCTV footage from a nearby area where the incident took place. The authorities also cited that around six to eight vans passed by Katipunan Ave. on the same day that the actress’s van was shot; three of these vans had the same black color as Chiu’s vehicle.

This reportedly reinforced the theory that it could indeed be a case of mistaken identity. JB
