Kim Chiu on van shooting: A case of mistaken identity perhaps

MANILA, Philippines — Actress Kim Chiu stressed that she has no known enemies and may have been a victim of mistaken identity after motorcycle-riding gunmen fired at her vehicle Wednesday morning in Quezon City.

In an Instagram post hours after the incident, the Cebuana actress said she is safe along with her personal assistant and driver.

The gunmen opened fire at the van carrying Kim along Katipunan Ave. corner C.P. Garcia Ave. in Quezon City at around 6:15 a.m.

The suspects immediately fled after the shooting.

“I don’t have an idea (of) what really happened. Mistaken identity, I guess? Napagtripan? This is a bad joke,” Kim wrote.

The 29-year-old ABS-CBN star also said that she decided to lie down and move away from the vehicle’s window which was shattered by bullets.

“Pano kung tinuloy ko magbasa ng script? I was so scared, I don’t know what to feel right now,” Kim recounted.

“Wala naman akong kaaway or ka atraso. Kung sino man ang gumawa nito Diyos na ang bahala sa inyo dalawa,” she said.

Kim shot to local show business fame when she was named the first grand winner of the teen edition of the reality show Pinoy Big Brother in 2006.
