Joey de Leon is in hot water once again for his remarks to women, this time made on yesterday’s episode of “Eat Bulaga!”
The variety show TV host, 73, was a trending topic on Twitter yesterday, Jan. 7, after his comment to a contestant was construed as a double entendre on the “Bawal Judgmental” segment.
While he and co-host Allan K spoke to Danna Rose Socaoco, a flight attendant, he complimented her legs. “Ang ganda ng legs. Bihira ko sabihin ‘yan (Your legs are nice. I rarely say that),” he said.
He said shortly after, “[Danna], masakyan kita isang araw (I’ll ride you one day).”
Some interpreted the statement with sexual meaning, with viewers taking to Twitter to express their disappointment.
“In this episode of some men are trash, Joey de Leon said ‘sana masakyan kita’ to a flight attendant on national TV. 2020 na po, stop these lame & double meaning jokes. Konting character development naman,” said one @dpressingtruths.

“I love Eat Bulaga but Joey De Leon always proving that he is a[n] insensitive host. Saying ‘Sana masakyan kita’ to a flight attendant contestant in Bawal Judgemental is showing no respect to the audience and to the contestants,” a certain Clarence Molina (@ckkassey) chimed in.

One @boutoez also said it “sounds so wrong,” describing it as “kadiri” (disgusting).
Another viewer, Ms. Cathy (@MCph1124) suggested that hosts undergo “ethics training.” “When will @EatBulaga realize it too? Their segments are great, but their male hosts are not!”
“Hilig nilang magbato ng jokes na may double meaning (They are fond of throwing jokes with double meaning), especially Joey de Leon and Jose Manalo. They should undergo some kind of ethics training. Kelan sila matututo (When will they learn)?”

Some viewers also noticed a question De Leon directed to actress Sanya Lopez, who was a contestant in the episode. Contestants were asked how many times they were been bitten by a dog. De Leon asked, “Sanya, ilang beses ka nakagat ng lalaki (Sanya, how many times have you been bitten by a man)?”
A clip of the exchange was posted on Twitter by one @abbey_cayco who appealed, “Respect naman po sa mga babae (Please respect women).”
Eto kanina lang sa #BawalJudgmental i felt off sa question ni Joey De Leon kay Sanya…
Ang question nya, Sanya ilang beses ka na nakagat ng lalaki?
