Gary Valenciano’s daughter, Kiana, has addressed calls for a refund after the former recently cut his concert midway due to health issues.
Kiana recently penned a heartfelt message to her dad, commending him for “doing his best” to perform at his “Pure Energy: One More Time” concert on Dec. 20 despite pausing midway due to constant vomiting and dehydration.
“Some may say it was a waste of time, effort, and money. But what many fail to realize is that night was one of a kind—there will never be another like it. The audience that night saw my dad the way I see him at the kitchen table when he hasn’t had enough rest for weeks. They received the pep talk he’s given me when I’ve been at my lowest. They witnessed him lean on my mom when he realized he couldn’t do it on his own,” she wrote.
“If you came to merely be entertained, you’d see it as a failure. But if you know anything about him—who he is and what he stands for—you’d quickly recognize that his purpose in life is not solely to entertain but also to inspire. So, yeah. That’s my dad. On Sunday night, on song number 22. That’s my dad. I’ve never been prouder to say it,” she added.
Despite the positive tone of the post, fans took to the comments section to “rant” about refunds after Valenciano wasn’t able to finish the first day of his concert.
“Ok, enough of the drama. REFUND,” said one user.
In response, Kiana wrote, “It’s not drama. And you didn’t pay me, so don’t demand a refund from me. If you were at the show and you truly want a refund, please reach out to his team.”

One online user shared that they tried to reach out to the team but to no success, making another netizen pitch in, accusing Kiana of not “caring” about the paying audiences.
Kiana hit back at the netizen, writing, “You have no right to comment with this tone on my TikTok when you don’t even have the balls or backbone to use your real photo or name. ‘Wag ako.”

Kiana, who’s also a singer like her father, clarified that it’s “totally understandable“ to demand a refund, but not in a “demanding” way.
“You know what? It’s fine to want a refund. That’s totally understandable. But the manner in which some are so demanding and demeaning and bordering harassment is what’s not okay,” she stated.

Despite the negative comments, other fans extended their well wishes to Valenciano as they expressed their concern for the singer to consider stepping back from performing for awhile.
“We all admire your dad for inspiring all of us to have faith in our father. But please, as a family, make a decision not to push his health,” remarked one user.
Kiana responded, “I wish it were up to us. As his daughter, I wish he would just relax. But this is something that I cannot control. It’s his decision. It’s not like we force him to get on stage.”

On Dec. 20, Valenciano made headlines after he showed up onstage to perform despite his weak condition, only to halt the concert midway.
In a Facebook post, his wife Angeli Pangilinan explained that the singer was “dehydrated and vomited so many times,” mentioning her husband’s Type 1 diabetes that comes with serious medical issues.
Despite the health scare, Valenciano decided to push through with the second night of his show on Dec. 22.
