Nadine Lustre, Dimples Romana set to attend Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019

Nadine Lustre and Dimples Romana, earlier named as the regional winners in the Best Actress category, will be attending the Asian Academy Creative Awards’ (AAAs’) Gala Final next week Friday, Dec. 6.

“AAAs are excited to announce that the Philippine’s Nadine Lustre will be attending the 2019 Gala Final!,” the AAAs posted in their Instagram account earlier today, Nov. 27. “Nadine is up for the Best Actress in a Leading Role award and she will be gracing the E! Red Carpet as well!”

The AAAs also said that they “can’t wait to see” Romana, as per their Instagram post yesterday, Nov. 26.

Lustre, Romana, Carlo Aquino and Tirso Cruz III have all been hailed as the regional winners in their respective categories in this year’s AAAs.

Lustre was declared Best Actress in a Leading Role (regional) for playing the romantically-frustrated Maya in “Ulan”, a 2019 film by director Irene Villamor.

Earlier this year, Lustre won the Gawad Urian Award for best actress for her role as Joanne in director Antoinette Jadaone’s 2018 film “Never Not Love You”.

Aquino, Lustre’s love interest in “Ulan”, meanwhile was named Best Actor in a Leading Role (regional) for his performance as Peter in the same film.

“Ulan” is the regional winner for the Best Cinematography (Neil Daza), Best Direction (Villamor), Best Original Screenplay (Villamor), Best Sound and Best Feature Film categories.

On Nov. 15, “Ulan” had its international premiere through the San Diego Asian Film Festival under the Asia Pop! category in San Diego, California, United States.

Romana meanwhile was hailed as Best Actress in a Supporting Role (regional) for her iconic villainess role of Daniela Mondragon in the television series “Kadenang Ginto”.

For his role as Santiago Guerrero in the TV series “The General’s Daughter”, Cruz bagged the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award (regional).

“The General’s Daughter” meanwhile was hailed as the regional winner under the Best Telenovela or Soap Opera Series category.

As Lustre, Aquino, Romana and Cruz are regional winners, they have the chance to claim the highest awards for each of their respective categories.

The Grand Awards will be on Dec. 5. Both the Grand Awards and the Gala Final will be held at the historic Victoria Theater in Singapore.

The AAAs, which started last year, is an annual part of the Singapore Media Festival (SMF). The festival aims to celebrate “the best of the best” in the Asian entertainment industry. JB
