Maine Mendoza was part of a dinner with rumored boyfriend Arjo Atayde’s family last Sunday, Nov. 17, but some fans would not believe it.

Atayde’s mom, actress Sylvia Sanchez, posted a picture on Instagram last Tuesday, Nov. 19, of Mendoza joining the Atayde brood with the caption, “Sunday is famday. Love u kiddos.”

The picture showed the family including Mendoza, beaming from ear to ear as they shared a meal together.

It was not mentioned if it was the first time the actress and “Eat Bulaga” host had met Atayde’s family.

However, fans of the love team AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza) cast doubt on the picture on Twitter. One Twitter user @quinto_baby claimed that Sanchez was lying because the bright background did not seem like it was dinnertime.

Sanchez replied, “Check! Podium Las Flores 8:30pm last Sunday sa taas kami nakapwesto (we were seated upstairs), [good luck].”

Both Mendoza and Atayde have not reacted to the comments.

The GMA star confirmed last March on her blog that she and Atayde were “dating” and that he had met her family. Back then, she commented on fans’ reactions to her love life, stating that some had gone “overboard” such that they were sending “threats and malicious messages” to the “Bagman” actor and his family.  /ra
