Dame Joan Collins has landed a starring role in the Valentino Christmas campaign.

The British star, 86, was snapped up by the Italian luxury label to bring some of her signature pizzazz to a video celebrating its Christmas capsule collection. The “Dynasty” actress does exactly that — donning a lacy red off-the-shoulder gown and evening gloves for the clip, accessorized with a dazzling tiara.

The “Joan for the Holidays” clip starts with the Hollywood legend ringing the doorbell of a London flat, laden with gifts, to liven up a subdued dinner party with dancing and witty one-liners. The video ends with Dame Joan, half hiding behind a fan, declaring irreverently: “You know I enjoy my own company as much as you do.”

“A holiday party wouldn’t be complete without a dinnertime surprise from a special someone,” Valentino, which had been teasing its new representative, announced via Instagram, where the clip has been greeted with delight by fans.

The move is a natural one, given the close relationship that Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and Dame Joan have developed over the years: the star even opted for a gown by the designer for a statement red carpet moment at this year’s MET Gala. IB/JB
