LOOK: G Töngi pursues master’s degree in nonprofit management

Actress Giselle “G” Töngi has gone back to school to earn a master’s degree in nonprofit management in the United States. 

Töngi is furthering her education at Antioch University in Culver City, California, as per her Instagram post yesterday, Oct. 2.

“A new chapter begins!” she said in her post, which showed her inside the university’s campus.

She added that she was “excited to apply all this knowledge” to her work with FilAm Arts, a nonprofit organization for Filipino and Filipino-American arts and culture. The actress also hopes to use her education to “advocate for representation for Philippine Art & Culture nationally.”

Prior to furthering her studies in the said university, Töngi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also finished with a double minor in film and theater.

Along with her work with the said nonprofit, Töngi continues to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. She has done automated dialogue replacement work (ADR) in the Warner Bros. Studios in Hollywood, as seen in her Instagram post last Saturday, Sept. 28. ADR is the process of re-recording dialog by the original actor after filming to improve audio quality.

Töngi’s latest showbiz endeavor in the Philippines was a cameo appearance in the 2018 drama-romance film “First Love,” which starred Aga Muhlach and Bea Alonzo.

Aside from her work in the Philippines, she was also the host of “Kababayan Today with G. Tongi,” a daily talk show for Filipinos in America. The program was taken off the air back in 2017.  /ra
