Rising soon: Heart Evangelista’s animal shelter in Sorsogon
MANILA, Philippines – Actress Heart Evangelista is taking her love for animals to another level by building an animal shelter in Sorsogon.
Evangelista shared on Monday via Instagram a photo of herself at the site of her soon-to-rise animal shelter with Sorsogon tagged as location.
“As you all know, I’ve always had a soft spot for animals and it’s a dream of mine to be able to do more to champion their welfare,” she said.
“This will be the site of one special endeavor that is near and dear to my heart— building a facility which provides services such as spaying, neutering, tagging and shots, and a community that welcomes animals and treats them with love,” she added.
The 34-year-old actress also expressed excitement to finally see her dream become reality.
“This is step one and I am already brimming with excitement for this special project and I can’t wait to finally turn this dream into reality! Doing this one step at a time until we get there,” she said.
Evangelista has been an advocate of animal protection and collaborates with Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
Last year, she launched a campaign with PAWS, “Have a Heart for Aspins” urging the public to “#AdoptDontShop.” (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
