Nadine Lustre as ‘Darna’ wows netizens
MANILA, Philippines – For some netizens, the search for the next “Darna” is over after seeing actress Nadine Lustre’s version of the superhero’s transformation.
Singer Donnalyn Bartolome posted on Tuesday a video via her YouTube channel showing Lustre performing the famous “Darna” scene.
In the video, Lustre asked Bartolome, who pretended to be the superhero’s sidekick Ding, for the stone that would transform Jane Narda into Darna.
As the video went viral, clamor for Lustre to play the iconic superhero grew with one saying “If you watched that vid with Nadine Lustre shouting the infamous line ‘Darna,’ you know the search is over.

Another netizen said, “Star Cinema, the search is over just give the darna role to nadine lustre bc it really suits her DARNA NEEDS NADINE.”

The project’s former director Erik Matti also previously said his top pick to be the next Darna is Lustre.
ABS-CBN’s film production arm Star Cinema recently announced it is opening an audition for the role following Liza Soberano’s withdrawal from the project because of a finger injury. /gsg
