Is Paulo Avelino starring in Antoinette Jadaone’s movie ‘Fan Girl’?
Could Antoinette Jadaone have cast her male lead role for “Fan Girl”?
Last March 22, Avelino teased a fan about an upcoming film, after Twitter user Abby (@abbymndiola) asked if there was a chance that he would fall in love with a fan. “At kung meron sana sa ‘kin,” she quipped. (And if there is, I hope it’s me.)
Avelino replied, “Parang ganito (Like this)?” and included a picture of a “Fan Girl” script attributed to Antoinette Jadaone. More intriguing was that the script had a watermark that said “Mr. Avelino’s copy.”

Jadaone retweeted the actor’s reply with the “speak no evil” monkey emoji and the hashtag “#Fangirl.”

Last October, Jadaone revealed on Instagram that her project “Fan Girl” was the only Filipino film to be accepted at the 2018 Asian Project Market, which links film projects with global film investors, producers and distributors.

The film is about an “obsessed teenage fan” who meets her celebrity idol in a mansion and “learns exactly why they say never meet your heroes.”
Some buzzed on Twitter with hope that Maja Salvador would star opposite Avelino — after all, they proved their chemistry in the film “I’m Drunk I Love You”.
But the production is looking for a fresh face, as per a casting call last February. In a call from production company Epic Media, it said it was looking for a woman between 18 to 22 years old and with little to or no acting experience.
No word yet on when the film will be released, but the lucky actress could be Avelino’s next infatuated fangirl. JB
