For Lolis Solis, fans should accept the news of Regine Velasquez’s transfer from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN, since after all, nothing is permanent in this world.

The news of Velasquez’s transfer surprised her fans who were used to seeing the singer as a Kapuso artist for two decades. Solis took to Instagram to express her two cents on the news today, Oct. 14.

“Sobra naman ang reaction sa lipatan ng mga artista, Salve. At latest nga dito iyon paglipat ni Regine Velasquez sa Channel 2 mula sa GMA 7,” she wrote. “Kung maraming stars ang lumilipat, hindi ibig sabihin discontented sila. Hindi rin ibig sabihin meron silang hindi gusto.”

(The reaction on the news of artists transferring [from one station to another] is too much, Salve. The latest is Regine Velasquez transferring to Channel 2 from GMA-7. If there are many stars who wish to transfer, it does not mean they are discontented. It also does not mean they have something they do not like.)

Solis then likened the artists’ decisions to transfer networks with finding the perfect house — even if one is used to living in one’s old house, finding a better home could definitely prompt a transfer. She asserted that it is “human nature” to try new things.

She noted that Velasquez’s transfer gives young singers of GMA-7 the chance to prove themselves. Velasquez’s transfer also means her fans can now see her together with Sharon Cuneta and Sarah Geronimo.

“Times are changing, kailangan din mabago ang eksena, hindi puwede ganun lang nang ganuon ang paninda mo na ibibigay sa televiewers kaya all the chances kinukuha mo,” she stated. “Gusto lumipat nito, ok go. Gusto niya pumasok dito, ok tanggapin. Paikot-ikot lang naman.”

(Times are changing; the scene has to change since you cannot always sell the same thing to televiewers. If someone wants to transfer to another network, okay, go. If someone wants to transfer to this network, okay, receive him/her. It is a cycle.)

Solis also cited the case of Velasquez’s husband, singer-composer Ogie Alcasid, who has transferred to several networks and has remained thriving.

“Tingnan mo si Ogie Alcasid, from 7 to 5 to 2, walang problema. Ganundin si Regine, kung saan niya gusto ok lang,” she added. “Wala naman permanente, lahat nagbabago. So why hang on to something kung may iba ka naman chances, at why stop one who like to go? Tuloy ang buhay.”

(Look at Ogie Alcasid, from [channel] 7 to 5 to 2, there is no problem. The same goes with Regine; it is okay wherever [network] she wants to be. There is nothing permanent, everything changes. So why hang on to something if you have other chances, and why stop one who [would] like to go? Life goes on.) JB
