Megastar Sharon Cuneta found herself disappointed and hurt recently when action star Robin Padilla didn’t show up in her 40th anniversary concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, last Sept. 28.

Cuneta expressed her hurts on social media when he didn’t turn up, saying then, “Nahurt ako. Inimbita ko manood ni walang sagot. Di na ako kilala ang bilis makalimot!”

Veteran talent manager and columnist Lolit Solis gave her take on the matter, as she took to social media on Oct. 8 to share that she was not surprised that Padilla was a no-show in Cuneta’s concert. As per Solis, Padilla was the same when it came to his other friends, former senators Bong Revilla and Jinggoy Estrada.

Solis shared to her readers that when Padilla was jailed in New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa back in the day, actor Rudy Fernandez, Revilla and Estrada would often visit him and give him food and cigarettes. Today, however, Padilla seemed to have not done the same for his friends.

In 1994 Padilla was convicted of illegal possession of firearms. He was sentenced to a maximum of eight years in jail, but was released after more than three years following a conditional pardon by former President Fidel V. Ramos.

In 2016, Padilla was granted absolute pardon by President Duterte, thus restoring his civil and political rights.

As per Solis, making one’s presence and sympathy felt is a big thing, “Kahit nga hindi mo kaibigan, iyon lang presence mo will brighten up their days.”

She then continued to ponder, wondering what the reason could be behind Padilla being “detached” and caught up in his own world.

/ra
