Singer Morissette Amon recently capped off her sold-out “Morissette Is Made” concert in Dubai and is back in Manila for much-needed rest and recuperation. Amon took to social media on Wednesday, Aug. 22, to write about the surreal experience, sharing the panic she felt when she lost her voice 10 minutes before the start of the show.
“Different kind of UNFORGETTABLE was what went down in #MorissetteIsMADEDubai,” wrote Amon in her Instagram post on Aug. 22, sharing a series of concert photos to her fans courtesy of Wish FM 107.5. “An episode of losing my voice literally just 10 minutes before our opening, of a headline concert with a complex setlist of intense sing&dance numbers and power ballads.”
” I won’t lie, I had a moment of panic and breakdown.”
Despite losing her voice, feeling a wave of panic and being close to having a breakdown, Amon shared that she thought of all the efforts the production had to go through just to make the concert possible. The thought, too, of her fans traveling across the Middle East and elsewhere just to see her perform compelled her even more to carry on with the show.
“One thing’s for sure, the show had to go on,” Amon continued to write. “With the help of medication, compromise by taking out some songs from the rep, and God’s Grace, I survived and made it ‘til the end.”
Amon’s concert was delayed for two hours because they had to wait for the medication to kick in. “When I went out on stage to apologize and explain prior (to) the show proper, I had already taken them and my voice had already started to come back then.”
Amon was ever so grateful for her fans, saying that they inspired her even more to give them the show they deserved. She, however, said that despite enjoying and loving what she does, her “body can only do so much, even if the mind is limitless.”
“The most challenging experience I’ve had in my career so far, but definitely a learning one for me and my team.. yet, this is still one for the books!”
Meanwhile, Amon took to her Twitter last Aug. 19 to share to her fans that they have already arrived in Manila and that they are safe and sound.
“Nakauwi na po kami dito sa MNL ng ligtas,” wrote Amon. “And I am doing okay, going on strict voice rest and meds.”

Amon also extended her gratitude to all those who supported her and prayed for her concert in Dubai. “Just wanted to drop by here and thank everyone for the concern & prayers from our Dubai stint!” Amon said. “Thank You Lord ‘di Mo pa din kami pinabayaan.”
Welcome home, Morissette! /ra
