Actress Ai-Ai delas Alas was the proud and supportive wife when she revealed recently that husband Gerald Sibayan has started attending premier flight training school Asian Institute of Aviation in Makati City.

Delas Alas took to her Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 22, to share a video clip of Sibayan during his orientation at the aviation school.

“Orientation of my darl (darling) sa AIA ( asian institute of avaiation),” wrote Delas Alas proudly. “Yesss mag kaka asawa ako ng PILOT nax – proud of you my husband .. fly high my darling.”

In Delas Alas’ video, an instructor can be seen giving Sibayan a short lecture on aircraft. Delas Alas continues to pan the camera around before turning it to her face.

At syempre, ako, epal pa-epal lang sa asawa, supporter,” Delas Alas said before the camera in jest.

In another video clip shared on the same day, Delas Alas showed Sibayan inside a Cessna 172 simulator. Sibayan, too, posed for a picture in front of the Asian Institute of Aviation signage, smiling and seemingly looking excited for his new journey ahead.

“Cessna 172 simulator (first simulator ni darl sa buong buhay niya kasama si Captain Sam from Malaysia,” gushed Delas Alas. “Ikaw na darl (darling).”

Despite the odds and hearsays, Delas Alas and Sibayan proved their doubters wrong when they tied the knot last December after four years of dating. Their lavish wedding at the Christ the King Parish in Quezon City was star-studded, attended by the likes of Marian Rivera, her wedding gown and veil sponsor; and Megastar Sharon Cuneta, her Matron of Honor.

Blessings upon blessings continue to rain down on the couple, too. This August, Delas Alas won Best Actress in the Cinemalaya Philipine Independent Film Festival, a feat that by turns reduced the humble actress to tears and earned the praise of Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos. Delas Alas won the award for her role in “School Service,” a story about a syndicate of street children run by Rita (Delas Alas).  /ra
