Director Erik Matti gave out some trivia on what went on during the production of his latest masterpiece, “BuyBust.”

Matti decided to share some tidbits about what went on behind the scenes of “BuyBust” in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Aug. 14. The post described things such as how an untrained dog walked the same way for a scene identically for three takes.

The director also revealed that the movie’s green house area would have been a weed factory. Unfortunately, they could not source out the right marijuana plants nor could they get permission to use the plants as props.

In one of Anne Curtis’ scenes where they had to do a long take in Biggie’s lair, Matti wrote that four camera operators were needed to do the shot. These four operators in turn passed around the camera six times during the long take. Since Biggie’s lair had mirrors on the walls, the operators’ reflections were later erased during the post-production process.

Meanwhile, some of the lighter trivia bits Matti mentioned included burning Brandon Vera’s costume once to get rid of ghosts, Joross Gamboa’s flashlight glasses being available at Wilcon, and finding new boots for Curtis since the ones provided on the first day of shooting were too big for her feet.

Matti considered “BuyBust” as his best work so far. As if in response, international critics praised the film for its theme and cinematography after it premiered at the New York Asian Film Festival back in July 15.

The veteran director is currently working on a new “Darna” movie featuring Liza Soberano as the famed Filipino superhero.  /ra
