‘Saint Young Men’ TV series teased in new show poster and 360-degree video

Fans have received a closer look at the live-action adaptation of Japanese manga comic “Saint Young Men.”

The show’s website showcased a new poster image for the show, as well as a three-minute, 360-degree video. The video clip showcased the two leading characters, the Buddha and Jesus Christ, trying to deal with a cockroach running around in their apartment. Due to both holy figures refusing to kill the insect, they end up running around the room in disgust while trying to figure out a way to deal with the repulsive insect.

Ken’ichi Matsuyama plays the part of Jesus Christ, while Shota Sometani plays as the Buddha. A report by Comic Natalie via Anime News Network stated the two actors ad-libbed their lines for the teaser video.

“Saint Young Men” will premiere sometime late this year, according to a statement released on the Morning magazine website.

The manga comic “Saint Young Men (Saint Onii-san),” by Hikaru Nakamura, explores the what-if idea, which has Jesus Christ and Buddha living like normal people under one roof. With their divine influence and powers, the everyday mundane things that people take for granted get a certain comical twist when the two holy figures are involved.

The manga started serialization on manga magazine Morning 2 in September 2006 and has continued up to this day. The released chapters have been compiled into 14 volumes so far. A-1 Pictures released two original animation DVDs between 2012 and 2013, while an anime feature film premiered on May 10, 2013.  Alfred Bayle /ra
