LOOK: Iya Villania cautiously does intense workouts while pregnant
For actress and TV host Iya Villania, pregnancy is no reason to falter in her intense CrossFit workout regimens. Villania is known for sharing her workout sessions on Instagram, where she is often seen engaging in different activities that keep her healthy and fit.
Yesterday, Villannia took to her Instagram Stories to share clips of her working out in Avant Garde CrossFit gym. “Okay, before anyone reacts to my following posts here’s something that’s given me the courage to keep on with what I do,” wrote Villania, as she gave a shoutout to friend Ingunn Selvag, a fellow CrossFitter and mother.
“Shout out to @ingunnselvag for being so awesome in helping me out and sharing what you know! You’ve been major help in giving me the confidence to keep on and keep strong!”
The clips that followed were of Villania doing intense sets of handstands, pistol squats, and even weightlifting — exercises that at first glance may seem extreme for a pregnant woman. However, Villania shows that all is safe and well, as she takes caution in every workout that she does and makes sure she does each exercise the proper way.
“Watched out for any ‘coning’ action in my abdominal section today,” shared Villania. “FYI, coning is a no-no so keeping an eye out gives you a chance to scale down the movement.”
Article continues after this advertisementIn another clip, Villania can be seen doing shoulder presses with a barbell, her shirt tied in a knot behind her back so her belly is exposed. “I don’t normally flash my belly when I workout but been having to recently to check out for any unnecessary strain on my belleh!” explained Villania.
Article continues after this advertisementVillania also explained in a separate clip that once her tummy gets bigger, she would have to resort to lifting from a hang position so she doesn’t hit her belly. “Careful to bring the bar down to past my belly,” added Villania.
At the rate Villania is going, she is one of the many admirable fitspirations out there who shows that nothing is impossible when handled with the right amount of will and determination. You go, mama! And for those who still resist getting fit, what’s your excuse? JB
