Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay took the chance to ingest one of the dishes he despises, pineapple pizza, for the sake of a charitable cause.
To raise funds for a children’s hospital he supports, Ramsay proposed to his followers last week that he would gulp down a slice of the pizza if he received 500 donations within two days.
“If we can hit 500 donations in the next 48 hours, I will eat this f**king god-awful pineapple pizza on Facebook Live,” he had posted on social media, attaching a meme of himself gazing at a pineapple pizza with repugnance.
Fans wanted him to “suffer” and the fateful day came when Ramsay, 50, had to face his culinary nightmare. On Thursday via Facebook Live, Ramsay blurted out his thoughts about the dish before he ate a slice with a fork.
“The only thing Hawaiian about this is that I’d like to drop it in the ocean,” he spoke out. “Pineapple is a fruit that deserves to be roasted with vanilla and served with the most amazing coconut ice cream.”

“Not good. This isn’t a pizza, this is a mistake. This is an Italian tragedy. At least Romeo and Juliet had a happy ending. The only happy ending for me will be on the toilet tonight. This is gross!”
Known for his expletive style in critiquing dishes, Ramsay owns a number of restaurants and previously hosted shows such as “MasterChef,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
