Mendoza is known to be a big fan of Coldplay and its lead vocalist, Chris Martin. Last year, a video of her shedding tears at one of Coldplay’s gigs in California became a hit on social media sites. To make her happier, Mendoza even received a “special gift” from Martin with the help of a close friend.

“She asked Chris [Martin] if he could write a simple message to one of his biggest Filipino fans–me,” she recalled in an Instagram post earlier this year. “He willingly granted the request; he immediately grabbed the airline’s dining menu and wrote his short message on it.”. Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
