LISTEN: The Chainsmokers, Coldplay drop ‘surprise’ single
The Chainsmokers and Coldplay teamed up for a “hymn of the night” that would certainly amuse fans.
At the recent 2017 BRIT Awards, the DJ duo and the British rock prodigy performed their “surprise” collaboration hit, titled “Something Just Like This.” The galactic superhero-themed music video of the song is set to be released on YouTube on Thursday.
Fans never expected The Chainsmokers’ Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall to “duet” with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, as both groups are preoccupied with completing their track lists for their upcoming respective albums. During their hyped-up gig at the BRIT Awards, Martin made a surprise appearance and jammed with the crowd.
“Can’t believe we just got to premiere our new song with Coldplay at the BRIT Awards to play alongside these guys. We are shaking!” the Chainsmokers tweeted.

“Something Just Like This” may ring a bell to many as the track’s beat is reminiscent of The Chainsmokers’ other EDM-pop hit “Roses.” A debut album is coming in the way for the duo, which will include “Paris,” “Something Just Like This” and 10 other new singles.
In fact, Martin tweeted his thrill for the duo’s debut album. “Excited for The Chainsmokers’ album. I’ve heard some songs and I love them,” Martin said last month.
