‘I just wanna move on,’ Erich Gonzales says after split from Daniel Matsunaga
Actress Erich Gonzales has confirmed that she has split up with her boyfriend, actor Daniel Matsunaga.
“(It’s) true po that we’re not together anymore. It’s over,” the actress said in an interview with ABS-CBN on Thursday.
Rumors of their breakup have been swirling since Gonzales deleted her photos with Matsunaga on her Instagram page, and fans of the loveteam have been commenting on the pair’s accounts, asking for answers.

When asked for the reason behind their split, Erich said, “To be honest, ayaw ko po magdetalye (I don’t want to give details), I just wanna move on.”
The Kapamilya stars had been dating for two years and starred opposite each other in the teleserye “Be My Lady.”
“Hindi po kami naguusap (we’re not talking), it’s not true that we’re talking. Hindi po kami magkaibigan. Walang third party po (We’re not friends. There’s no third party),” she added, dispelling rumors that there was a third person responsible for their breakup.
Now, the actress is more focused on helping herself move on rather than wallowing in the past. “I deleted the photos. I unfollowed them. I just want to help myself and move on,” she said.
Despite her failed relationship with Daniel, Erich still stays thankful and hopeful, saying, “Hopefully, it’s gonna get better naman… Of course, nandyan naman ‘yung pamilya natin, mga kaibigan natin, mga supporters natin. Thankful po ako dahil ‘yung loyalty nila laging nandiyan. Siyempre po ‘yung Diyos, siya naman po ang nakakaalam ng lahat.”
(My family is there, my friends are there, my supporters too. I’m thankful that their loyalty is always there. Of course, God; He knows everything.)
The lesson that she learned from this chapter of her life? “Kapag nagmahal ka, kailangan magtira ka para sa sarili mo (When you love, you need to keep some for yourself),” she said. JE
