WATCH: Ed Sheeran releases music video for ‘Castle on the Hill’
Ed Sheeran revisits the green pastures of his hometown in the music video for “Castle on the Hill,” a hit single for his upcoming album ÷ (Divide).
On Monday, the British crooner spilled his first music video for one of his album’s vanguard tracks, filmed at his hometown Framlingham in Suffolk, England. Sheeran recalls his days as a bold and adventurous teen hanging out with his friends near bonfires, trying vices and beer, and making out with a good-looking girl in a car.
A red-haired doppelganger portrays him in the music video as a young Sheeran, enrapturing fans’ hearts even more.
“Fifteen years old and smoking hand-rolled cigarettes/ Running from the law through the backfields and getting drunk with my friends/ Had my first kiss on a Friday night, I don’t reckon that I did it right,” he serenades in the clip, which ends when he treads the country lane and reunites with his longtime friends.
Sheeran, 25, tweeted upon the release of his video, “Loved filming this in Fram. All these kids are actually from my high school!”
