REGINE Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid

Name it, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez have achieved it all. But they don’t let the trappings of success turn into a trap. The Songwriter and the Songbird recognize the bigger “Star” in their lives—Jesus Christ.

They will pay homage to the Lord in “Reborn: 1 Walker Worship Concert” on April 3, 7 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena (smtickets.com).

Even if it’s no longer Holy Week, we should keep our faith burning. Let Ogs and Reg lead the way.

FEATURED STORIES

Here’s my tête-à-tête with Ogie :

What’s more fulfilling—performing in a Christian concert or in your usual shows?

Nothing compares to singing for the Lord. Doing a praise concert is different because you actually don’t sing for the audience. Our band leads the singing to worship our Creator.

What made you and Regine put up a Christian band?

Reg and I thought of putting up 1 Walker (our worship band) because we wanted to sing for the Lord in church.

1 Walker is a place where our faith grew. However, I think God had other plans. The Light of Jesus (religious community) of Bo Sanchez, through Randy Borromeo, invited our band to perform in the Kerygma conference last year and now they are producing our coming concert for Anawim Foundation.

What’s in store for OPM this 2016?

OPM has many projects lined up. I am finally releasing my new album, called “Ikaw ang Buhay Ko,” under Universal Records.

When do you and Reg plan to have another baby?

God probably has other plans for us in the baby department.

PBA heartthrobs

PBA heartthrobs Anthony and David Semerad elicited  “oohs and aahs” when they showed off their fab bods at their launch as endorsers of Euphoria Maxx, a sports and body building supplement (manufactured by Bargn Farmaceutici Phils Co). The Semerad twins are a double delight. They “abs” it so they flaunt it!

Here’s my chat with Anthony (A) and David (D):

Do you have sibling rivalry?

A: When we were kids, sometimes we would argue who was better in one-on-one basketball or who had the hotter girlfriend. But now, we just support each other.

D: Nope. My brother and I always want the best for each other. If I succeed in something, he is happy; and if he succeeds in something, I am happy. We are best friends.

What if both of you like the same girl?

A: We would just let the best man win. Whomever the girl wants to choose … we won’t force it!

D: We would wait and see which one the girl would choose.

In what way are you different?

A: I’m more serious and David is chill!

D: I think that I’m a little louder and outgoing.

What turns you on and what turns you off?

A: How well-mannered a girl can be.

D: A hot personality turns me on … someone outgoing and  fun-loving. Arrogance in a girl is a turnoff.

What do you find hard to understand about women?

A: When they get mad for no reason and their mood swings.

D: Why they get angry at men so easily.

What are your thoughts on jealousy and fidelity?

A: If you really love someone you should be loyal and supportive no matter the circumstances.

D: Jealousy is a natural human instinct. Of course, too much of it is bad. Fidelity is very important to have a successful relationship.

How do you handle gay admirers and aggressive women?

A: Never had a problem with either! I’m a friendly guy.

D: Remain polite to everyone.

How has Euphoria Maxx helped you stay fit?

A: It has helped me lose a lot of weight and get more ripped and toned.

D: I was 225 pounds and with proper diet and exercise, I lost 25 pounds.
