A video of Albie Casiño doing a seemingly overly energetic performance at a beauty contest in North Cotabato is making the rounds of social media.

In the video posted on Facebook by one HometownDiaries last August 26, Casiño was performing during the intermission at the Mutya ng Cotabato 2023 pageant, but he appeared to be lip-synching the songs “Habang Buhay” by Zack Tabudlo and “Pangarap Lang Kita” by Parokya ni Edgar.

“Okay lang naman kung ayaw niyo na. Oh, DJ, isa pa daw (It’s okay if you don’t want me to sing anymore. DJ, one more song),” said the actor, who was visibly hyperactive that night, as he tried to interact with the pageant contestants and the audience.

Many netizens expressed their displeasure with Casiño’s performance in the comments, with others comparing his rendition to someone performing at a “mall show” or “beer house.” Some Facebook users claimed his performance was a waste of talent fee.

Casiño’s manager Leo Dominguez, who’s based in London, told the Philippine Entertainment Portal that the actor was “not drunk” during his performance, saying he “did only what was told of him — to go to the crowd.” The talent manager also noted his ADHD diagnosis in the report.

Despite this, the “Mara Clara” star’s camp has yet to issue a statement addressing his performance, as of this writing.

Casiño made his ADHD diagnosis public in an episode of “Pinoy Big Brother” in November 2021.

According to health journals, ADHD is a common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood that often lasts into adulthood. People with ADHD may have trouble paying attention and controlling impulsive behaviors, or be overly active.

The actor previously spoke about his condition in May 2022, where he revealed that he doesn’t see his condition as a “handicap.” “I’m totally normal — at least, I think I am. I tell people who suffer from ADHD or dyslexia that these things are not hindrances, but superpowers,” he said. EDV
