Erik Matti-helmed series about show biz industry wraps up filming
The upcoming series from director Erik Matti, which stars veteran actors Judy Ann Santos, Edu Manzano, and Gina Alajar, has concluded filming.
In his Instagram post, the award-winning filmmaker gave a glimpse of what fans can expect from the star-studded project, which marks another collaboration with producer Dondon Monteverde. Matti and Monteverde co-founded the production company Reality MM Studios in 2003.
“@dondonmonteverde and I always wanted to do a show or a movie that tells the story of the showbiz industry without the sugarcoating. We wanted to present the entertainment industry in its true form. Not just the best side of it but also the worst,” the “On the Job” director wrote in his post’s caption.
“The egos, the insecurities. The dreams and the sacrifices. The nastiness and the chaos. All included for everyone to see how this is a world we love to hate but also a world we hate to love. No justification. No excuses,” he further teased of the series, which also stars RK Bagatsing, Nicco Manalo, Kat Galang, Raf Pineda, and Haley Dizon, among others.
From the director-writer’s description, the upcoming “riot of a show” seems to pertain to the local adaptation of the French comedy series “Dix Pour Cent,” reported by Variety early last year. The series — also known as “Call My Agent!” — tackles the lives of talent agents working at Agence Samuel Kerr.

The cast is huge! And it was damn hard to put them all together in one frame,” claimed Matti, who uploaded behind-the-scenes snaps with Zsa Zsa Padilla, Snooky Serna, and Maricel Soriano.
“I’m glad we made it in one piece. Happy last day!… Party to follow! See you all soon,” he shared as he capped off his post.

The French show, which was named best comedy series at the 2021 International Emmy Awards, has inspired shows from South Korea, India, and Poland, to name a few. The release date for the local adaptation has yet to be announced.
The “Honor Thy Father” filmmaker has also previously teased other upcoming projects including a “dream” collaboration with Vilma Santos. EDV
