Maine Mendoza hopes to work with former loveteam partner Alden Richards in new TVJ show
Even if it’s been years since the AlDub craze sent fans in a tizzy, Maine Mendoza said she is open to reuniting with her former onscreen partner, actor-host Alden Richards, in the noontime show of TV5.
Mendoza admitted that she’s hoping to work with the “Hello, Love, Goodbye” star again during an ambush interview with reporters, which took place moments after the media launch of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon’s (TVJ) new show last June 20, per report of Inquirer Bandera.
“Si Alden [Richards] naman ay legit Dabarkads. Hopefully. Hindi ko pa rin alam din e, pero hopefully makasama namin siya dito sa show namin sa TV5,” she said.

The host-actress then revealed that she is still in contact with Richards up to this day.

Prior to TVJ’s media conference, Richards expressed his loyalty to the former “Eat Bulaga” mainstay hosts during an ambush interview at a movie premiere earlier this month.
“TVJ know that kahit ano pa man ang mangyari, my loyalty, ‘yung sarili ko is for them, regardless. I’ve always looked back doon sa mga taong nakatulong sa akin nang malaki,” he said. “I think I have the right to defend that stand because malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanila. My support for them will go ‘till the end of time.”

The former “Eat Bulaga” hosts were previously in a loveteam known as AlDub, an amalgamation of their names, Alden and Yaya Dub, which was Mendoza’s moniker when she started in the show’s “Kalyeserye” segment. The onscreen partnership exploded in popularity in 2015, which led to both stars working together in numerous projects and advertisements together.
Mendoza is happily engaged to actor-turned-politician Arjo Atayde, while Richards remained single, as of this writing. EDV
