Less than a week after the reveal of the final member of T5 — K-pop boy group TREASURE’s first subunit — the all-Korean quintet dropped the dance practice video for their upcoming single “Move.”

Trading their bright and youthful sound from TREASURE’s most recent title track, “Hello,” the team of Jihoon, So Jung Hwan, Junkyu, Yoon Jae Hyuk, and Doyoung went for a more mature vibe, punctuated by the expressive and well-balanced choreography.

The teaser for the dance practice video revealed that Junkyu wrote the lyrics of the song, and also had a hand in composing the single with producer-songwriter DEE.P. The latter had previously worked with TREASURE for their “The Second Step: Chapter Two” mini album.

Some fans also noticed and appreciated the single’s more mature feel, with one user describing the performance as “sexy and refreshing.” Another netizen commented how the song gave them “90’s retro vibe,” adding that the choreography was “the best part.”

TREASURE, like other K-pop groups, has been known to spoil future releases. One user from Twitter spotted clips of T5 members Junkyu and Jihoon giving a glimpse of “Move’s” choreography apparently during the Manila leg of TREASURE’s “HELLO” tour last April.

The release of the dance practice video ahead of the single’s official music video follows the new promotion method promised by YG executive producer Yang Hyun Suk in a video announcement uploaded on June 11. In the same video, the YG founder announced the plan for T5 to debut next month before TREASURE releases its second full album. EDV
