YG Entertainment closes Manila application early due to high number of aspirants
South Korean music label YG Entertainment, home of female global sensation Blackpink, announced the closure of its pre-application period for its upcoming Manila audition last Friday, March 10 due to the high number of aspiring K-pop idols.
YG Entertainment made the announcement on its official Facebook page and official website ahead of the upcoming auditions in the Philippines.
“Thank you for your interest in the YG Manila audition. This is the inaugural audition for YG in Manila, and we would like to meet all interested applicants. Unfortunately, due to an exceedingly high number of applicants, we must close the pre-application submission period earlier than expected,” the label said.
Earlier this month, the label announced that its pre-application period would take place from March 7 to April 9, however, the deadline was moved to March 10.

Established in February 1996 by Yang Hyun-suk, who was a member of the rap group Seo Taiji and Boys, YG Entertainment cemented itself as one of the leading music labels in South Korea.
The label is home to popular Korean acts including Blackpink, Treasure, Winner, BigBang, Sechs Kies, AKMU, and pre-debut team Baby Monster. It was also the former agency of four-member girl group 2NE1 (which included Sandara Park) and six-member male unit iKON. EDV
