Dominated by male heavyweights, Taylor Swift emerged as the highest-paid female entertainer in the 2022 edition of the “World’s 10 Highest-Paid Entertainers” list by American business magazine Forbes.

Coming in ninth, with total earnings of $92 million (around P5 billion), Swift was the only female entertainer to be included in Forbes’ report published on Monday, Feb. 13. This marks the sixth time the singer has been included in the magazine’s annual list, having previously ranked first in 2019.

The “Anti-Hero” hitmaker was noted for the release of her 10th studio album “Midnights” in October 2022, as well as the subsequent ticket sales for her upcoming “Eras Tour,” which will kick off in March 2023 in the US.

“Despite the success of ‘Midnights’ and the anticipation for Eras (which hints at an even better 2023), the pop icon scored most of her $92 million in earnings from music she had released in years past. The 33-year-old’s back catalog made up an estimated 70% of her pay, including profits from streaming and album sales,” Forbes said in the report.

Meanwhile, English rock band Genesis emerged as the highest-paid male entertainer, having a total net worth of $230 million (approximately P12 billion) in 2022, according to Forbes. The group was formed in 1967, and is composed of Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins.

Also included in the list are English musician-actor Sting, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt, rock legend Rolling Stones and “Avatar” and “Titanic” director James Cameron, who ranked second, sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.

Swift recently became the first-ever artist to simultaneously take 10 spots on the top US song chart following the release of “Midnights.” According to entertainment magazine Billboard, this marks the first time in the “chart’s 64-year history” that a single artist dominated the top 10.

The award-winning singer has released a number of hit albums throughout her music career, including “Fearless,” “Speak Now,” “Red,” “Reputation” and “Folklore,” among many others.  /ra
