Cher sparks engagement speculations after showing diamond ring

Cher had fans buzzing with speculations that she is engaged to her 36-year-old boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards after she showed off a diamond ring on Christmas Day.

The 76-year-old “Believe” singer showed the pear-shaped ring in a black velvet box while she seemingly expressed admiration for Edwards, via her Twitter post today, Dec. 26 (Dec. 25 in the United States).

“There [are] no words, Alexander, AE,” she said.

This tweet prompted fans to send her questions on whether the pop star had just announced her engagement to the music producer. However, Cher opted to play coy about the rumors and only told fans she was gushing over Edwards’ manicure.

“I posted this cause his nails are so cool,” she told fans in a Twitter update shortly after. Edwards’ hand was painted black with green flames in the photo.

Meanwhile, fans still appear to be unsure on whether the diamond sparkler is an engagement ring or simply a Christmas gift.

Cher confirmed her relationship with Edwards last month, when asked by a fan whether the music producer-rapper is her “new man.” At the time, the singer addressed criticism about their romance and stressed that “love doesn’t know math.”

Cher was previously married to late singer Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975, and to singer-songwriter Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979.

Edwards was previously in a relationship with model Amber Rose, with whom he shares a son.  /ra
