Adam Levine named Google US’ top trending musician of 2022
Adam Levine has been revealed by Google as the top trending musician of 2022 in the United States, months after cheating allegations involving him surfaced online.
The Maroon 5 frontman was the most searched musician this year, followed by singer Mary J. Blige, rappers Lil Tjay and Kendrick Lamar, and the hip-hop duo Migos in the No. 2 to No. 5 spots, respectively, as seen on Google’s “Year in Search 2022” released yesterday, Dec. 7.
Artists who also made it to the top 10 of the “musicians and bands” category were Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, English singer-producer Kate Bush, singer Ricky Martin, rapper Young Thug and the rock band Foo Fighters.
Levine also made it to the No. 9 spot of the “people” category of “Year in Search 2022.” The said “people” list was led by former couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, who had a very public legal battle over the past months, and actor Will Smith, who slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
The reason for Levine being one of the top searches for 2022 was not explained, but it may be in connection with cheating allegations against him made by online influencer Sumner Stroh back in September.
