WATCH: Taylor Swift shimmers in Cinderella-inspired ‘Bejeweled’ music video, drops ‘Easter eggs’
Taylor Swift has left fans dazzled with the official music video for her song “Bejeweled” from her new album “Midnights,” and fans are wondering—will Swift be releasing a re-recorded “Speak Now” next?
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter gave a new twist to the classic Cinderella story in the “Bejeweled” music video, released on her YouTube channel today, Oct. 25.
Swift plays the character House Wench Taylor who is bullied by her stepmother, portrayed by Oscar-winning Laura Dern, and her stepsisters played by the members of rock band HAIM. She then gets help from Fairy Goddess (Dita Von Teese) to win a talent show by performing burlesque, forcing the Prince (Jack Antonoff) to propose to her.
However, instead of the happily ever after with the Prince in the classic fairytale, House Wench Taylor decides to make her own ending by “ghosting” the Prince and keeping the castle to herself.
Aside from the glitter and fairytale that comes with the music video, Swift did not disappoint her fans with some possible clues about her next release, as she talked about the “Easter eggs” she leaves for fans in her guesting at “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” yesterday, Oct. 24. (Oct. 25 in the Philippines.)
Article continues after this advertisement“I want to make a video that is just for the fans who like certain things like glitter and Easter eggs, and lots of little cameos,” she told Fallon.
Swift also noted there is a “psychotic amount” of Easter eggs for fans in the “Bejeweled” music video.
“We have a PDF file for all of the Easter Eggs in this video,” she quipped.
Given this, fans have started speculating that Swift may be talking about re-recording her 2010 album “Speak Now,” or “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” [SN TV], as she continues to regain ownership of her entire discography.
Is ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ next?
Swift was not kidding when she stated there would be numerous hints in the “Bejeweled” music video, as fans on Twitter started seeing many of them shortly after the music video’s release.
One of the first clues that fans pointed out is the scene where Swift boards an elevator that features a multi-colored keypad and floor indicator. According to fans, the buttons and floor indicator represent each of the singer’s albums and re-recordings.
In the scene, Swift presses the purple button for the third floor. It is worth noting that “Speak Now” is Swift’s third album and has a purple theme color and cover art.
“I got it. These are her albums and the [colors], and she pressed 3 which is purple. Hence, ‘Speak Now TV’ could be the next re-recording,” one @tealtaylah said.

Another clue noticed by fans is the opening and closing instrumentals to the music video, which seemingly has the same tune as the songs “Enchanted” and “Long Live.” Both are tracks from “Speak Now.”
“‘Enchanted’ playing in the background, the purple [‘3’] and ‘Long Live’? What is going on?” another fan, @repiatation13, said.

During the opening scene of the music video, Laura Dern’s version of the evil stepmother also said the line “Speak Not… clean!” to House Wench Taylor, and fans took it as another hint that “Speak Now” will be coming soon.
“Yeah, we’re getting ‘Speak Now y’all. Don’t panic,” one @taysrep89 quipped.
Another netizen, @londonboy_com, meanwhile, said the line may be a two-part clue that also teases the upcoming release of a re-recorded version of “Clean,” from Swift’s album “1989.”
“What if she does single from SN TV, single from ‘1989 [Taylor’s Version]’ and then the whole SN TV album?” the fan said.
the evil step mother saying “SPEAK not”, taylor tapping the PURPLE THIRD floor when she got into the elevator, the dragons… yeah we’re getting speak now yall DONT PANIC

Two more Easter eggs can also be seen in the last minute of the music video, where Swift wears hair pins with the letters “S” and “N,” which may stand for “Speak Now.”
She also walks onto a balcony of a castle which is surrounded by dragons, seemingly a reference to the lines “I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you” from “Long Live.”
Swift dropped “Midnights” last Friday, Oct. 21, followed by its “3 am version” featuring bonus tracks a few hours after the original release. “Midnights” comes about two years after the singer’s “folklore” and “evermore” albums, both released in 2020.
If Swift will indeed be unveiling the re-recording of “Speak Now” soon, it would be her third one, following her re-released “Fearless” and “Red” albums last year. /ra
