Maxene Magalona confirms she’s now single: ‘No date? No problem!’

Maxene Magalona has confirmed that she is now single, after months of keeping mum on rumors that she and her husband Rob Mananquil have separated.

The actress made this confirmation about her status as she talked about the perks of doing things alone, in her Instagram post yesterday, Oct. 14.

“No date? No problem! Perks of being single and childless: You have full control of your schedule,” she said. “You can literally do anything you want on any day at whatever time.”

Magalona listed some things she enjoys doing by herself, such as going to the cinemas alone, taking herself out on dates and having long solo drives.

“One time, I even felt the sudden urge to buy crystals for extra protection and I was able to do it easily because I have no one else to think of but myself,” she told fans. “Life is all about perspective. Do you see your glass half empty or half full? I see mine overflowing.”

Speculations that Magalona and Mananquil are separated came as early as last January, when Magalona talked about having a “sad soul” while on a solo trip to Boracay.

Despite the rumors, the actress appeared to remain close to her in-laws as she dined with them on New Year’s Eve. Last January, she also looked back at her wedding day and expressed gratitude to Mananquil’s mother for fulfilling her dream to wear a Vera Wang gown.  /ra
