Andrew Garfield will be taking a much-needed time off from acting to recharge as well as “recalibrate and reconsider” what he plans to do next.

The actor, who appeared in various projects over the past year, revealed he is going on a hiatus in his interview with Variety yesterday, April 27. While he is grateful for the opportunities he had lately, he also admitted that the awards season took a toll on him, describing it as a “washing machine.”

“It feels very important right now, especially after a lot of output, a lot of being out in the world, and giving a lot of energy to things that I’m very passionate about,” he pointed out.

Garfield then admitted that he finds it “tempting” to just move on from one project to another, and he considers it a “privilege” to take a break.

“So that’s what I’m looking forward to, and I don’t know. Because honestly, if I pretended to know, it would be a disservice to me and to an audience as well. So I want to make sure I make things that feel genuine and authentic to myself and hopefully connect in a deep way to an audience,” he explained.
