Janella Salvador marked the 50th birthday of her mother, West End musical “Miss Saigon” alumna Jenine Desiderio, by sharing with fans a couple of throwback videos.
“Today, I celebrate the woman who gave me my strong willpower and 1/2 of the talent I was blessed with. Golden. Happy birthday, MAMA,” Salvador said on her Instagram page yesterday, Sept. 23.
Included in the young actress’s post is a snippet of Desiderio in the music video of her 1998 hit “Hindi Ako Si Darna” along with photos of the artist back in the ’90s.

Salvador credited these “’90s visuals” to her mother and also treated her and fans to “a little surprise,” which is a black and white clip of a very young and adorable Salvador singing happy birthday to her mother.
Desiderio meanwhile marked her birthday on her own Instagram page by sharing her take on Jamie Rivera’s “Will of the Wind”.
“God’s plans are always better than ours,” the birthday celebrant said.

Salvador and actor Markus Paterson, both 22, earlier this month confirmed that they are in a relationship. Paterson took to Instagram to share a romantic video of them slow dancing and sharing a kiss while Salvador posted on her account a photo of them hugging in Osaka, Japan. JB
