WATCH: Solenn Heussaff shows teaser of new horror series in honor of Peque Gallaga

With the new normal comes new terrifying possibilities for the world of horror.

The new series “Quarantina Gothika”, starring actresses Solenn Heussaff, G Töngi and Michelle Gallaga, is about three women’s lives during the quarantine period. The project is a tribute to the “Master of Horror,” director Peque Gallaga and will be available for viewing at the Remembering Peque Gallaga’s Facebook page on Aug. 1, 7 p.m.

In anticipation of the horror series, Heussaff showed its thrilling teaser via Instagram yesterday, July 20.

“Quarantina Gothika” was shot entirely through the teleconferencing app Zoom, as per Remembering Peque Gallaga’s Facebook page on the same day.

The first episode titled “Hello Mom” features Peque’s daughter Michelle and his granddaughter Sophia. Töngi stars in episode two, “In House”, while the third episode “Solitaire” has Heusaff as its lead. Each episode is directed by Lore Reyes, Christian Acuña and Jo Macasa, respectively.

Director Gallaga passed away at the age of 72 on May 7. He died from cardiopulmonary arrest at a hospital in Bacolod City, according to his wife.

The legendary director was behind numerous blockbuster horror movies such as the first four installments of “Shake, Rattle & Roll”. He also directed the critically acclaimed period drama “Oro, Plata, Mata” among other classics of Philippine cinema. JB
