Former football star Phil Younghusband is now a father. He introduced his newborn baby and namesake, Philip James, to fans and social media followers today, June 16.

Baby Philip was born last Friday, June 12, as per Younghusband’s Instagram post. The father said both the baby and his wife Margaret Hall are healthy and well.

“@margaretyounghusband and I are both overwhelmed with emotion for our bundle of joy,” he said. “Thank you Baby Philip for making us the happiest Mummy and Daddy in the world.”

Younghusband did not reveal his baby’s face, but he did show the child wearing a number 10 jersey displaying their last name.

“Very proud to introduce Team Younghusband’s new signing Philip James Younghusband, named after his Grandad and Dad,” the athlete said.

Younghusband and Hall announced that they were expecting a child last December. The couple got engaged in December 2017, then later married in Canterbury, United Kingdom in July 2019.

The Filipino-British athlete retired from football last year at the age of 32. His international career spanned 13 years. JB
