A nude portrait of Jennifer Aniston by award-winning photographer Mark Seliger is being auctioned off to help raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts.

Aniston made the announcement on her Instagram page last Saturday, May 30, alongside a clip of Seliger developing the picture in a studio. The iconic black-and-white image shows Aniston posing naked while she covers her breasts with her arms and one leg.

Seliger partnered with auction company Christie’s and the fundraising campaign RADArt4Aid for the effort. All of the proceeds from the sale of the photo will be given to the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, an organization that provides free coronavirus testing and care to the “medically underserved” in the United States.

Aniston then thanked Seliger for letting her be a part of the initiative. The highest bid for the portrait is $6,500 (over P320,000) as of this writing.

Meanwhile, Seliger told Christie’s that the image was taken while Aniston was still starring in the hit TV show “Friends.” It was then used for the February 1996 issue of Us magazine.

The auction group also noted that the portrait was a result of Seliger encouraging the actress to try “something a little bit provocative and edgy.”

Along with the photo of Aniston, Seliger is also putting his other portraits of celebrities up for bidding. His pictures of Billie Eilish, Laura Dern, Tom Hanks, Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez and Oprah Winfrey are among the other images being auctioned off.  /ra
