WATCH: Yeng Constantino harvests own vegetables during quarantine

Yeng Constantino has begun growing and harvesting her own vegetables while she stays in her home in the province during the enhanced community quarantine.

The singer showed off her house’s simple garden in a vlog post on her YouTube channel yesterday, May 27.

Constantino started tending it with her husband, Victor “Yan” Asuncion, when the enhanced community quarantine was imposed last March. She also noted that it has already been around 80 days since they planted the different kinds of vegetables in their garden.

Eggplants, tomatoes, okra and kangkong (water spinach) are among the various products the couple has planted in their small garden. Constantino also pointed out that since they planted a lot of seeds at the start of the quarantine, they usually end up harvesting eggplants and okra every week lately.

The singer then showed how they use recycled tubs and containers to serve as pots for their crops. Aside from their vegetables, Constantino and Asuncion have also planted papaya, guava and calamansi, which they have yet to harvest.

After the short tour of their garden, Constantino was able to harvest eggplants, okra, talbos ng kamote (sweet potato leaves) and kangkong. She also encouraged her fans to start growing their own vegetables during the quarantine while stressing how starting her own garden has “enriched [her] soul.”  /ra
