Actress Bea Alonzo once again cooked food for frontline workers who are battling COVID-19, this time for the employees of the National Institute of Health at University of the Philippines, Manila (UP NIH).
Alonzo said that she was starting to love cooking meals in big batches, as seen on her Instagram post yesterday, April 27. Aside from the bagoong rice meals with strips of egg, meat and green mango, the actress also provided refreshments courtesy of a local milk tea shop.
The “Four Sisters and a Wedding” star thanked director Antoinette Jadaone for introducing her to the people at UP NIH.
“I’m planning to share this easy recipe later on my IG live at 8ish,” she added. “Kwentuhan na rin (Let us catch up as well).”

On Easter Sunday, the actress also prepared pasta for healthcare workers at several hospitals in Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, Alonzo broke the internet last night after reuniting with her former love team partner and good friend John Lloyd Cruz via Instagram Live. Alonzo promised to teach her fans and followers how to make her bagoong rice recipe. However, halfway through the livestream, Cruz joined her and they discussed a wide range of topics, including Alonzo’s COVID-19 relief efforts.
The actress justified her food drives to Cruz after he pointed out that private individuals’ relief efforts should only serve as supplement to the support coming from government officials, which Cruz noted as severely delayed.
Alonzo explained that she understood Cruz’s point but emphasized that her goal in helping the frontliners was only to provide them with occasional daily sustenance at the very least. JB
