Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz catch up via livestream
MANILA, Philippines — Fans of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz were in for a surprise Monday night when the showbiz celebrities went on livestream to catch up, reminisce and talk about life.
What was supposed to be Bea’s simple Instagram live session to share her bagoong rice recipe became an apparent throwback to fans when she invited John Lloyd to go live too.
They went on to exchange playful Q&As on their first love, to great love and their love team’s best movies.

Lonely John Lloyd
John Lloyd later opened up and admitted feeling lonely and “alone.”
“Hindi ako mag-isa pero parang mag-isa (I’m not alone but it seems like I’m alone),” he shared.
“Parang ito ata ang pinakamalungkot na uri ng pag-iisa, ’yung pinapalibutan ka ng mga tao (This seems like the saddest kind of being alone, the one that you’re being surrounded by a lot of people.)”
Bea’s relief drive
Their exchange then shifted to discuss Bea’s relief efforts for frontliners and those most affected by the coronavirus quarantine measures.
John Lloyd asked what would happen should those who volunteer no longer have time to help in relief drives.
“Dapat tulong lang siya. Dagdag. Kasi dapat may ibang bahala diyan, ‘di ba? Hindi naman pupuwedeng aasa na lang lagi sa kabutihan ng kapwa. Dapat may nanggagaling sa taas, sa kinauukulan,” the actor stressed.
“Hindi, totoo naman. Isang meal lang binibigay namin. It might not matter to you, but it matters to that person na naitawid namin ang gutom, kahit isang araw lang,” Bea said.
(No, it’s true. We only give one meal. It might not matter to you, but it matters to that person who we were able to feed, even just for a day.)
Bea was among the celebrities who have been conducting their own relief drives by cooking meals for frontliners of the COVID-19 health crisis.
“You had me at my best…”
Bea and John Lloyd also reenacted their confrontation scene from one of their most popular films “One More Chance,” with the actor busting out his character Popoy’s line “She loved me at my worst, you had me at my best, I just made a choice and you chose to break my heart.”
The Instagram live soon ended after John Lloyd’s son Elias entered the room.
“Kailangan ko nang patulugin to. See you when I see you (I need to put him to bed. See you when I see you),” John Llloyd said.
He and Bea starred in drama series “Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay” which aired in 2002. In 2007, they were Popoy and Basha in “One More Chance” which had a sequel in 2015 entitled “A Second Chance.”
In February, the two reunited for a live script reading of the movie “That Thing Called Tadhana.”
They became more visible online since, mostly through exchanges via Instagram.
