Celebrities pooled together from the safety of their homes to give a rendition of Juan Miguel Severo’s stirring poem dedicated to the country amid social justice challenges during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

“Panalangin ng Bayang Aahon sa Dilim” was recited by actors led by Ria Atayde. These were JM de Guzman, Darren Espanto, Charlie Dizon, Glaiza de Castro, Alwyn Uytingco, Alessandra de Rossi, Vance Larena, Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado, Enchong Dee, Janine Gutierrez, Maris Racal, RK Bagatsing, Sam Concepcion, Mikoy Morales, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

“Sa pagpasok natin sa panibagong linggo ng quarantine, matukoy sana nating mga Filipino ang balanse ng pagtulong at pagsalungat, ang tulong ng pagsalungat, at ang salungat ng pagtulong. Magkita-kita tayo sa wakas nito. Aahon tayo,” Severo said on Facebook.

“Panalangin ng Bayang Aahon sa Dilim”

Na ang ahon ang wakas ng dusa
Na ang nagdurusa ay guminhawa at ang magiginhawa ay makaramdam
Na ang may karamdaman ay gumaling, na ang nagpapagaling ay maging ligtas
Na ang ligtas ay ‘wag nang mangahas, na ang mapangahas ay magtigil
Na ang tumigil ay muling magsimula, na ang muling magsimula ay makinig
Na ang nakikinig ay magmatiyag, na ang nagmamatiyag ay magtanong
Na ang mga tanong ay masagot, at ang mga sagot maging malinaw
Na ang nalinawan ay tumindig, na ang tumindig ay marinig
Na ang narinig ay pakinggan, at ang pakingga’y maunawaan
Na ang naunawa’y isakatuparan, na ang maisakatuparan ay kaayusan
