WATCH: Kathryn Bernardo recites poem dedicated to COVID-19 frontliners
Actress Kathryn Bernardo became the voice behind a poem dedicated to frontline workers who are risking their lives everyday to battle COVID-19.
Bernardo recited the poem which acknowledges the frontliners’ ongoing sacrifices to keep the rest of the country safe and healthy, as seen on her Instagram post yesterday, April 21. The poem was written by artist Carlo Hornilla and presented through a glutathione supplement brand.
The poem, written in Filipino, uses the star as a symbol, to emphasize how the frontliners’ hard work shines through the darkest hours.
(It seems like each one is a star/ we cannot touch or embrace/ yet we see shine.)

Below is Hornilla’s complete poem:
“Bituin”
Nais naming sumaludo. Nais naming pumalakpak.
Kayong mga nag-aalay ng buhay,
Kayo ang aming mga bituin.
Aside from the frontliner tribute, Bernardo also earlier gave tips on how to create a do-it-yourself (DIY) washable face mask, via her Instagram account on April 17.
